Capture the wonderful moments of your childs beauty and innocence in an original oil painting, which will be treasured forever. Mary has a reputation as one of Australias foremost artist specialising in painting children.
Mary is able to capture the wonderful moments of a childs life and she has the ability to convey their individual personalities. The beauty she sees in their faces, hands, etc inspire her to paint, reflecting scenes of tranquility and happiness. Many of Marys paintings portray children playing happily on the beach immersed in their own world of play.
With a commissioned oil painting, parents or grand-parents will always remember their children at this particular stage of their lives, and the painting will be handed down to future generations.
An oil painting of the family makes a wonderful gift for that special birthday or anniversary. Mary has been commissioned so many times as a surprise gift for that special occasion.

My favourite place to work is Balmoral Beach. Children relax so well when playing in the sand and I can always capture their true personalities. Unlike the old show biz rule never work with children or animals, its what my husband and I do best. I paint children, he paints horses. Alister is a professional equine artist and is one of Australias best.
I got my fi rst set of oil paints when I was 12 and I havent put my brush down since. I trained under New Zealand artist Ida Ease learning to paint still life fl owers. These days my works are fi gurative but my style remains Romantic. I love to capture the atmosphere of the city and its people using Sydney icons ferries, yachts, rock pools and seagulls. Its been my home for almost 20 years and still inspires me.
I work mostly from photographs and sketches and I like to meet all my clients, inviting them into my home studio in Mosman. My works range from $2,500 to $5,000 and take about three weeks to complete. Alister and I make all our own canvases using Belgium linen. I exhibit at the Moulton Gallery in Mosman but most of my business is word-of-mouth referrals. Many of my clients are local and some are ex-pats who have lived in the area. Some of my paintings can now be found in homes in the UK, New York and France.
I come from a great horse racing family and Alister and I first met at the races in New Zealand and are still regular race-goers. Alister trained as an artist in London and studied vet anatomy in New Zealand for four years to learn the true make-up of the horses.
Today he paints horses, jockeys, owners, trainers and dignitries and does commissions for racing clubs, stud farms and collectors all over the world. Im his offi cial photographer, so where he goes, I go. Weve visited studs across the country and abroad. Hes painted champion thoroughbreds for sheikhs, Gai Waterhouse and even royalty. In 1980 he painted the Queen Mothers horse Sindebele. I liked the original painting so much I made him keep it. It hangs in our hallway and we sent the Queen mum a print instead!
