The outstanding reputation of Alister Simpson as an Equine Artist is well known and his paintings are keenly sought after and feature in collections throughout the world.

Alister undertakes commissioned assignments from clients during the year and he is the artist of choice for many of the Jockey clubs throughout the world.

The Committee of the Australian Jockey Club has commissioned Alister to paint the winner of the AJC Australian Derby for 25 consecutive years and his oil painting is the trophy presented to the owners.

He has also for the past 21 years been commissioned to paint the winner of the Golden Slipper Stakes for the Sydney Turf Club, the richest race in the world for two year olds. These paintings hang in the in the archives for the Sydney Turf Club and are much admired by international guests and racing enthusiasts.

On 9 occasions he has been selected to paint Australias Champion Racehorse for the Victoria Racing Club.
